OnLaunch
can be used to define some application to be started every time when your PalmOS
device is reset, resuming or just after HotSync. This feature is useful to
launch a most used application when you wake up the device. By example, if you
have a Photo application installed, it is possible to show a selected picture
every time when Palm wakes up. Alternatively you may open your favorite
"Launcher" or "Today" application on system reset. You may also open the Memo
application just after HotSync.
The application can be also used to define the application to
be started after insertion of storage card and connection the devices to the
external connector.
OnLaunch saves and restores the brightness level of backlight
on compatible devices. If configured, the brightness level is restored after
Reset.
One of the unique features of OnLaunch is the possibility to
lock current launching settings to prevent the changes made by some unauthorized
persons. That makes OnLaunch an ideal solution for public devices such as used
in Airports, Hotels, Clubs etc.

Set On Restart parameters
Here you define which application will be started after Reset, how long
it will wait for confirmation and what is the startup delay.
When a Startup delay is set, OnLaunch will wait for the given time before
starting up it's boot sequence. The Startup delay is needed only if you have
HackMaster or any of its replacements like TealMaster or X-Master installed.
Set this to at least 2 seconds so you get a chance to see the dialog box
that these applications bring up so you can confirm reinstallation of active
hacks (also called system extensions).
The Confirm duration gives you time to cancel the automatic launch if you
choose to do so. If you do not want to be nagged by the confirm dialog,
simply select "None". When the Confirm dialog is displayed, you can tap on
an empty space within it to toggle the backlight on and off or adjust the
level of it's brightness. When toggled on, the backlight will remain on even
after OnLaunch exits.
The Reset button performs a "Soft Reset" on your handheld. You will not
lose any data if you use this function. |
