Introduction

Schema Browser is general multipurpose database application where the data structure and the user interface is completely described by Schema. In fact, Schema is a simple XML file which can be created by anybody. It supports fully customizable table and details views and produces graphs and reports based on user's data.

Schemas can be made by user (by typing XML file by hands or using any XML editor for desktop computer or XMLGuru for Palm) or downloaded from Service Points in Internet or Intranet. Once Schema is downloaded on the Palm device it become a standard Palm database which can be edit, send, beamed and saved on removable media. The structure of Schema (XML files) is well documented and gives the user the complete control over the representation of data.

Using Schema Browser and rich features offers you by Schemas you may create new database applications in minutes.

The distribution archive contains the set of sample Schemas as "Software Bugs", "Fuel consumption", "Hours" (in German), "Shopping List", "PalmGear Sales", "Handango Sales", "KFZ-Kennzeichen" (German car license plates), "Presidents of USA ". The number of Schemas you may create is limited only by your wishes and imagination.

	About dialog and Global Find Schema Browser supports Global Find feature of PalmOS. It shows the name of schema and the found string. The Global Find feature can be completely disabled or enabled for certain Schemas only.
	Application's preferences The application is quite well configurable. It is possible to tune almost every aspect of application and database behavior.
	Schema layout The application starts from overview of selected Schema.
	Manipulate schemas Here you see "Download schema" and "Select schema" dialogs. 1st dialog shows list of schema available on Service Point. 2nd dialog shows the list of schema already downloaded on the Palm. Schema files can be stored in internal memory as well as on storage cards.
	Table view Here you see table view of different schemas. The "President" example shows how to use Look Up feature. Click here to see the example of table view on Sony Clie.
	Details view The screenshots are representing Details mask generated by Schema Browser with examples of some types of supported controls.
	Graphs The application is creating graph using XML definition and user's data. There are supported multiple Y axis as well as grouping, aggregation by COUNT, SUM, MAX, MIN, AVERAGE and calculated fields.
	Reports The application is generating reports using XML the same definition as for Graphs. The same set of grouping and aggregation is supported.
	Registration dialog Here you can register the application. Registration code is 23 chars long: there are 4 sections by 5 characters. To enter such registration you have 4 separated fields in the registration form. Please enter every section of registration code into the sequential field.

Registration

The application is a shareware. The limitation of non-registered version is only the nag screen which pops up randomly during the program execution.
